10

Kason woke up and said, "yes I am finally in double digits!"
He wanted to have a family bbq and open presents on his birthday. Then for his friends we took a few of them to the movie (Alice and Wonderland) and had a slumber party. He had a total blast but I hope next year I can pay him to NOT have a party.

He was pretty sure he'd get a 22 for his birthday because Kyron did when he turned 10 but he was extra shocked that he got a case to hold it.

Kason is probably the sweetest kid I know. He is so lovable and loves to gives hugs. I could go on and on about how great I think he is but I will just list 10 simple things about him.

  1. Kason loves to dance and loves music.
  2. He loves to make people laugh.
  3. Loves HOT food. The hotter the better.
  4. All HEART!
  5. Sensitive...biggest crocodile tears ever.
  6. Athletic. He will play any sport. Competitive.
  7. Loves to wear his cowboy boots.
  8. Loyal.
  9. Loooong eyelashes.
  10. Friendly.

Happy 10th birthday Kason! We love you to pieces!

Chocolate

These two are just crazy little funny kiddos.
She just laughs at whatever he does...good or bad!
The first thing she says when she wakes up is, "where's Pooper?"
and the last thing before she says before she goes to bed is, "where's Pooper."
She is always looking out for him.
She is a little copy cat.
She will play whatever he is.
She laughs at his every move.
She thinks he walks on water.....but
the first thing Kooper says when he wakes up in the morning is
"where's Kals?"
He is constantly taking care of her.
He makes sure she always has a snack.
He will get her a capri sun whenever she asks him.
He makes sure that she is happy.
He hugs her constantly.
He always asks her,"Kals do you love me?"
It is so sweet!
I am so glad these two have each other.
What would they do without one another.
They truly are the best of friends.
(We were making cupcakes for Kason's class....pictures from his birthday still to come)

A very long post

For Spring break this year we were all excited to just get out of town and be together as a family. The kids really wanted to go to the zoo. It has been years since we've been so that's what we did. The weather was perfect and the kids were happy! Kali wanted in every cage and wanted to hold every animal.

We rented a double stroller and it was a good thing. Walking that much gets ya tired after awhile. I think everyone took a turn except Kyron.

Kyron was more excited than ANYONE! He was our tour guide. He had his map and we didn't miss a single animal or bug for that matter. We just followed him around. He has always been very into animals, any kind. He was the only one who wasn't ready to go. He would have gone all day. There were a few animals that were in hiding and that just wasn't a good thing for Kyron. He wanted to go back to those ones and see if they were out yet.

Kooper couldn't believe we were really at a zoo. We'd been talking about going for a long time and he couldn't believe they were real animals. He loved it!

The day before we headed to Phx. my brother Tim and his wife Tori had their sweet baby girl.
It was perfect timing for us, since we were already coming down. This is Mylin. She is the cutest little thing. She has tons of dark hair, beautiful skin, a perfect little face and big dimple. She is perfect. We can't wait to see her again. They just moved to California so we are a little sad:(
Also while we were there....My brother Nate had us meet him at one of his job sights and took us all up in one of the buckets. He works for SRP. The boys were so excited to go. It was really high and a little scary. He just gave us a taste of what he does. He goes 3 times as high as he let us. We were up like 90 feet.

Nate and Kali really like each other. She loves to give him big lip kisses on his mouth and rub his head. We had such a great time. He showed the boys how to do a few things on his work truck and Kason said, "I could totally go work with Uncle Nate now, cuz I know exactly what to do." I have some more pictures of being at Nate's house while we were down for spring break. They will have to be for my next post becasuse this one in on the verge of a book.

I FINALLY got myself a new computer!
I am in Heaven.
I have been busy finishing my family book from 2009.
I'm caught up on 2010.
Feels good.
We had a great weekend.
Cleaned the garage.
We have a big D.I. pile.
Went to the park.
The weather was beautiful.
The boys went horn hunting.
Came up empty handed.
Trying to design our backyard.
Time to landscape.
Very excited about that.

Kenzi had her first softball practice.
Was so nervous.
She loved it.
Kyron starts practice today. Mon-Friday. (yuk)
Kason hasn't been called by his coach yet.
Kason is still doing track though.
Fixing to be busy with lots of games every week.

Luke is out of town again.
I will be glad when this case is over.
He has been super busy.

Kooper discovered his privates.
Our convo went like this,
Him: I think there is something wrong with my pee pee,
Can you take me to take me to the Dr.?
Me: Oh really, well what happened?
Him: I found two balls right here.
Me: Well they are suppose to be there.
Him: Why would there be balls in my pee pee?
Me: There just is. Stop pulling on them so hard.
Him: I am trying to get them out. There are two of them.
Me: Rolling on the ground laughing my head off.
Him: What is wrong with me? Why does it look like this?
Me: Just laughing so hard I couldn't talk.

It has been interesting every time one of my boys has discovered themselves. But it is always funny. Oh little boys!

Kali is as busy as ever.
Every time she hears the door open she yells, "Daddy!"
She always has someone shoes on.
She loves to try and put lids on everything.
She loves to be outside whether it is hot or cold.
Jabbers all day!
She is at the best age ever.
I love my family more everyday.
I love being a Mom!
I get a little sad when they do things that prove they are getting older
Like.....
Kason going on out of town track trips all by himself.
Kyron figuring out that the Easter bunny and everything else is isn't real.
(I almost cried on that one)
Kenzi asking where babies REALLY come from?
Kooper saying he NEEDS to go to school.
Kali going down the biggest slides at the park all by herself.

Yummy in the morning

Every morning after the older kids go to school Kooper LoVes to have hot chocolate and whip cream. Or should I say some hot chocolate with his whip cream. He tells me this whip cream is so "yummy in the morning." He just makes me smile. He climbs up on the counter grabs his favorite mug, a packet of hot chocolate and the whip cream. He sits at the bar waiting so patiently while I get it ready. " Not too super hot Mom," he says.

Also, over the last few years we have learned that on Sunday before church Koop isn't allowed to have his white shirt on until everyone is loaded in the car and we are all ready to go. If we put it on before it ALWAYS gets dirty. Somehow it always gets dirty, so we've learned. So right before we walk out the door we slip his shirt and tie on and head out. He usually gets dirty at church, somehow, but I at least I feel good that he was clean when he got there. Well this week we were driving to church and almost there when I turned around and almost died when I saw the whole left side of his shirt. It looked like his shirt had the chickenpox. Kyron had given him a little red gum ball to put in his pocket. Well he held it in his sweaty little hand for only a minute and by the time he put it in his pocket his gum ball was loosing the red color all over his hand. So as he tried and tried to get it his pocket it just got worse and worse. His shirt looked awful. I said, "what are you doing? Just eat it!" He started to cry his huge crocodile tears and he said, "I was saving it for after the sacrament like Kyron." I had to just stop myself and for a minute (only a minute)I didn't care about how red his shirt was. He actually knew what the sacrament was? I thought he knew but to actually hear him say it. Wow, what a sweet little mess. I just had to hug him and tell him it was alright. But for now on NO MORE gumballs at church....(kyron)! It actually was Kyron's fault but I couldn't get mad at him for sharing. I am sure that his teacher and everyone else that saw him probably thought I forgot to do laundry, (I do 2 loads a day) but believe me it doesn't matter. He always finds a way to get dirty. That's what I love most about him.

Tree climber

Kyron loves to climb! It doesn't matter the object or the weather. He is a monkey and will climb anything anytime! He got clear to the top and missed a branch and slid all the way down on his little rear. It only stopped him for a minute though. He actually got clear to the very very top but I had already put my camera away.

Being the oldest he gets cheated on pictures. He doesn't like me to take them of him anyway. But when I do, I usually get a hand over the face or a look of "why?" He is such a good kid and I am so very proud of him. He has such a soft spot for little babies and kids. He just makes me smile. For Valentines day he once again told everyone that asked him to be their Valentine (I don't ever remember doing anything like that at this age, what the crap) that he was his Mom's Valentine. I just loved that and I hope that it last for a very very long time.

Last one

to Potty train! YAY (for me)! She is so ready for this. For the last 3 weeks she hasn't even pooped in her diaper. She always tells me and she goes on the potty! So a week ago I decided that I needed to take advantage of her wanting to do this all by herself. So we started really doing this a week ago. My Mom got her a little princess potty and some little undies. She was excited about that! The only problem is, she is so stinkin' little that her little panties won't stay on her little butt!! I think we are going to have to take them in. I don't see her growing into them anytime soon! She obviously loves the attention she gets from all of us every time she goes. Yes, we do a potty dance and she just stares at us like we are crazy. But she expects it after every time she goes. If we don't do it then she starts it for us. Pretty funny! Last week was hit and miss. She'd have a great day and then a not so good day. Then Sunday was hard because at church I wasn't going to take her to the bathroom every 10 minutes so I put a diaper on her. Usually I would never do that but with her it is different. I don't know if it is because she is the 5th child or if it is because she is my very last BABY ever, but I just didn't think this day would come so soon. I almost didn't want it to. Now this will mean that I no longer have a baby around:( But I am very excited to not have diapers around and to not change another poopy diaper again.

Before I started doing the whole potty training thing she would come out of Kenzi's room like this! Do you think it was a hint or what? Mom, potty train me already!

Right after she got her potty seat she was sitting on it on the toilet and she was goofing around and tried to stand up. Her little seat flipped her right over and she hit her whole face and head on the bath tub! I never knew it could be so dangerous. So lets just say that there is no more standing up on the potty! I am hoping that by the end of next week she will be completely done! We'll see if it really happens like that. I would like to think that it will:) But, I am already getting a little stir crazy not being able to leave the house.....but it will be worth it!

Poor Kason

A few weeks ago Kason was standing in the kitchen and I saw blood coming through his white shirt on his back. I asked, "why he was bleeding?" He said, "he didn't know that he was." So when I lifted up his shirt I was surprised to see that he had some sort of rash all over his body. From his head to his calves. He had been itching so bad that he was now bleeding. I gave him benadryl and he was was fine in no time. Well the same thing just kept happening. It was really strange though because he never had it in the morning or during the day at school. It just happened every night around 5 oclock. So every night I would be so saddened by it that I wanted to take him to the Dr. but during business hours he didn't have a sign of a thing on his whole entire body. So I took pictures and after about 8 days of this I finally took him in to the Dr. The Dr. had many questions for Kason. It went something like this....

Dr: Are you stressed about about anything?

Kason: No

Dr: Do you have good friends?

Kason: Yes

Dr: Have you eaten anything different?

Kason: No

Dr: Is anything bothering you at home?

Kason: No

Dr: Is anything bothering you at school?

Kason: No

Dr: Does it ever bother you during the day?

Kason: No

Dr: Do you get good grades?

Kason: Yup just got straight A's on my report card yesterday

Dr: Can I see your back right now?

Kason: Yes, but there is nothing there.

Dr: Are you allergic to anything?

Kason: Yes, bees

So it kind of went on like that for a little bit. It was kinda funny. Kason didn't really even look up. He was a little embarrassed. The Dr. and I talked about foods, laundry soap, bath soap, shampoo and anything else we could think of. I had already thought of EVERYTHING there was to think of. Nothing has changed in our lives or in our family. Kason has always been my kids to eat anything you put in front of him, and I mean ANYTHING! I hadn't changed detergent or soaps. I wash his sheets. He has a lunch from home everyday and then once a week at the school. He has done this since his has been in school. We have a wood fireplace and have had for over a year. So he had been living on bendaryl every night. The Dr. said it was a mystery but from the pictures it definitely looked like a food allergy. He wanted to test him the following Monday. It was a Thursday and he couldn't have bendaryl again until after he was tested. It sometimes messes with the results. It was a miserable weekend for him but like clock work every night he would be covered with a rash that itched him like crazy. I would just rub lotion all over him and that seemed to help.

(these pictures don't even show how bad they really were, this was one of the milder days)

So Monday morning we were in the Dr's office for 3 hours. First they numbed his arms and wrapped them up for an hour. Then the shots began. He got 40 of them. Good thing he had his DS.

After all the testing it came back that he wasn't allergic to one single food. Just as I had thought! So now we can either go do some more intense testing or just try and figure it out on our own. I think that I will just try and figure it out on my own. It is funny though, lately he hasn't hardly had any problems with it. A little, but nothing like it was. We will just keep our fingers crossed that it doesn't flare up again. What a mystery though.
